A Clinician Who Has Always Shown Up

“I’ve spent my career in the places where children and families need the most help — hospitals, courtrooms, hospice waiting rooms, and school hallways. The Storyhouse is the place I built so I can keep showing up.”

Julie Johnson, LCSW has worked alongside children and families through some of the hardest moments imaginable. After 16 years across pediatric cardiac care at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, bereavement work at Methodist Hospice, adoption and foster care at Agape Child & Family Services, and 6 years as District Social Worker for Collierville Schools — Julie founded The Storyhouse to do this work exactly the way it should be done.

“Every child who comes through these doors receives a journal and is told — through every detail of this space — that their story matters and that this chapter is not over.”

Quick Answers

Common Questions

StoryHouse is a private-pay practice, which means we do not work with insurance networks. No diagnosis is required to begin, and your care is not limited by an insurance provider. A detailed superbill can be provided upon request for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

We work with children and adolescents ages 5–17, along with their parents and families.

No formal diagnosis is required to begin therapy. Many families start with an initial assessment to understand their child’s needs and determine what support would be most helpful.

A parent consultation is a dedicated session without your child present. During this session, we discuss your concerns, answer your questions, and map out the next steps together.

Physicians, school staff, therapists, and community partners can submit a referral through our online form or downloadable referral PDF. You can also reach out directly. See the referral section above for more information.
